About Us

We let Jesus lead the way here at St. Wendelin Catholic School. We enter each day with a grateful heart and then with love and respect, we greet and welcome all who call our school home.

We know that each child is uniquely created so our teachers take the time to get to know your child and what his or her best learning opportunities look like. We recognized that all children learn differently and in order for them to grow and thrive, we need to value that.

When your children attend St. Wendelin Catholic School, we will help guide them to developing these core values:

  • Loving and respecting all of God’s people;
  • Honoring the gifts God has given us by being enthusiastic learners; and
  • Shining God’s light out into the world by service and engagement.

What is different at St. Wendelin Catholic School?

God is the creator of it all, so we put Him first in all things, knowing that with His guidance, we can truly do all things. Our students learn nothing is impossible with God.

We celebrate that God made each of us unique for a special reason. God does not make mistakes so we must love ourselves as God created us.

We are called to serve – the seek justice and peace in the world. Our students learn how serving others is being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Our Patron Saint

Wendelin

Wendelin was the son of a Scottish king; after a piously spent youth, he secretly left his home on a pilgrimage to Rome. On his way back he settled as a hermit in Westricht in the Diocese of Trier. When a great landowner blamed him for his idle life he entered this lord’s service as a herdsman.

Wendelin is the patron saint of country people and herdsmen and is still venerated in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. He is represented in art as a youth, or as a bearded man, with a shepherd’s bag and a book in one hand and a shepherd’s crook in the other; about him feed lambs, cattle, and swine, while a crown and a shield are placed at his feet.

Our area has long been an area rich in the farming community and we honor St. Wendelin and the powerful intercession he provides to protect our crops and animals from pestilence and disease.
